On Saturday, May 9th, our family’s world was turned upside down after my son Adrian was involved in a devastating wrong-way crash on Eastbound I-80 about 7 miles east of Fernley, Nevada caused by a drunk driver. In a matter of seconds, so many lives were changed forever.

Adrian survived the accident with non-life-threatening injuries, but his girlfriend tragically lost her life in the crash. No words can describe the heartbreak our family feels grieving such a sudden and devastating loss. She was deeply loved, and our hearts ache not only for her, but for everyone affected by this tragedy.

His 4-year-old daughter was in the car with him and suffered life-threatening injuries. She had to be airlifted to the hospital, and watching such a small child fight through something so traumatic has been absolutely heartbreaking for our family. We are beyond grateful she is still here, but the road ahead for both of them will be long physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Right now, we are doing everything we can to stay strong for my son and his daughter while navigating hospital visits, recovery, and the overwhelming uncertainty that comes with something this sudden and life-changing.
