Thank you to everyone for your prayers, kind words, and generous donations. We were able to make final arrangements today (4/24/2026).
Cara will be announcing the date and time for a Celebration of Life in honor of Elwyn (“Pawpaw”) Peterson.
If you would still like to send monetary donations for any needs that may arise, please reach out directly to Cara. We are truly grateful for all the love and support during this time.
Final Update: 4/21/2026
This will be our final family update. As confirmed by the medical team, Elwyn (“Pawpaw”) is now actively transitioning into the final stage of life. His body is growing tired, and he is gradually beginning to rest.
At this time, we understand that we may have only a few days—possibly up to a week—remaining with him. We are focusing on keeping him comfortable, surrounded by love, and never alone during these final moments.
We want to thank each and every one of you for your continued prayers, love, and support. Your kindness has brought comfort to our family during this incredibly difficult time, and we are forever grateful.
The GoFundMe will be closing this Friday 4/24/26 as we begin preparing for final expenses. Thank you again for standing with our family during this time.
As, Pawpaw say's, "I love you all, very much."
Story:
Our family is going through an incredibly difficult time as our father, Elwyn Peterson (“Pawpaw”), is currently on hospice and nearing the end of his 13-year battle with cancer. During these final days, our focus is on surrounding him with love, comfort, and dignity.
Elwyn is deeply loved by his wife of 33 years, Cara; his children, Joni (and spouse Rusty) and Justin (and spouse Jennifer); and his 13+ grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is also cherished by many extended family members, his siblings, and friends who have become like family to him.
As we walk through this season, we are leaning on one another while facing the emotional and practical challenges that come with it. We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden of ongoing care, hospice needs, and the unexpected expenses that arise during this time.
Any support—whether through a donation or prayers—means more to us than we can express. We are truly grateful for your kindness, love, and support.
