Helping our Dad get through his surgery

Update, June 14, 2023

Thank you, everyone, for helping us out, it has been overwhelming how much support has come from our community. The surgery date is getting closer, just six days. He's still going to work but his mobility is getting worse each day, the cane, ibuprofen, and Tylenol are helping him get through the days. He is in good spirits and is doing his best to be accepting of the circumstance surrounding his hip, not an easy thing for an active, otherwise healthy individual. We are all expecting a great outcome. The countdown is on.

Update, June 7, 2023.

Just wanted to say thank you to those who have donated and sent messages, all have been appreciated and welcome. Dad has entered the countdown phase, 13 sleeps, as he puts it. He's been watching surgery videos supplied by the surgeon, which are rather graphic and not bringing any ease to this adventure. He's had many meetings and tests conducted as the surgery date gets closer. We're both thankful to live in this supportive community.

My brother and I are putting this out there to help out our dad. He has been a hard working supportive father our entire lives and has given his all to us and the community unconditionally. However, years of construction work and wear and tear on his body have caught up to him, he requires a complete hip replacement to carry on supporting himself, us and his community. He has been a self-employed contractor here for more than thirty years and has established himself with clients, friends and neighbours. He will require at least four to six weeks recovering time from the hip replacement of which he'll have no income, we are hoping to raise $10 to $15,000 to cover mortgage and bills while he is off work recovering and rehabilitating from the surgery.
