Hurricane relief-Lockard Family
Be the CHANGE you want to see in THE WORLD.
Saturday, August 26th, sometime after midnight my sister Andrea called me from Houston, TX. "I'm standing in a foot of water" she says. "The water isn't stopping. I'm trying not to panic for the kids sake but all of our things are ruined." There she was alone with two young children, two dogs, no power and water flooding in her home. For once in my life, I was without advise.
My sister and her family were lucky, as she explaines it. The water receded but the damage was done. Dry wall and flooring had to immediately be ripped out do to the rapid spread of mold if untreated. They have no idea when an adjuster will be out, or even when they'll receive help. Deductibles will have to be paid, missed days of work accounted for and possible future lodging, all out of pocket expenses.
I been feeling helpless, I can't get to her to help, or even send her supplies. How would they get there?
Then God spoke to my heart. My sisters family loves to pay it forward at Christmas and pay for the car behind them in the drive through Christmas morning . It's become a long standing tradition. We'll sis it's time you benefited from the pay it forward blessing.
One person with $10.00 can buy another person lunch.
Ten people with $10.00 can buy another person's groceries.
One hundred people with $10.00 can make a real difference in another person's life.
Friends and family, please think about being a blessing to someone else. You may find one day you'll need to be on the receiving end of it. The smallest amount will do amazing things. We are united, not divided. God bless.
