Help Olive Live

We adopted Olive on her 3 month old birthday on June 22nd. On the 3rd day she was throwing up all of her food. We took her to the vet to find out she has an infection in her stomach. It wasn’t getting better so we had to do an exploratory surgery. We found out that the cause of her health problems (and still is the cause) is that the previous vet had stitched her intestines to the wall of her belly. Our vet removed the stitch but Olive was still having trouble eating. We tried feeding her anything and everything. We knew she was starving but something still wasn’t right, we took her back to the vet to have her reopened. This time we removed that section of her intestines that was previously stitched because it wasn’t getting blood flow and there was a blockage. We were all hoping this would be the last invasive surgery she would have to go through. She stayed at the vets recovering and was eating and pooping normally. But each day after we noticed her belly was getting bigger and she was having diarrhea. We took her to the vet again to find out she has fluid near her kidneys that needed to be drained and is now staying at the vet’s to be monitored. We are unsure what will happen next and what that fluid is.

In the last 2 weeks Kate and I have spent over 3,000 dollars for Olive’s two surgeries, hospitalizations, antibiotics, and probiotics. We’ve opened up credit cards and paid vet bills instead of rent. All of our money and possible money we can have access to has been used.

Olive wants to live, she has a strong spirit, the vet sees it and believes she has a chance. With your donations we will be able to continue giving her medical care she needs to live. All of the funds will go straight to our vet, we pocket nothing. We just want our sweet, cuddly, boney pup to be fat, happy, and healthy.

The bond Cashew and Olive have developed is the cutest thing.
