Hi all. I’ve never posted a fundraiser, so forgive me if I’m doing this wrong, but my best friend and one of the most giving and kind people I’ve ever known is in need. Nisa Kaul, and her fiancé Steve, are in need. While hiking to get healthy for their prepaid honeymoon Steve suffered a big injury, that will result in a shoulder surgery and a wrist surgery. He has two torn tendons in his rotator cuff, and torn cartilage in his wrist. The recovery for his shoulder will be 12 weeks, they aren't sure about his wrist yet. They are still waiting to see the doctor for the wrist. The shoulder will take 6 weeks of physical therapy as well. He is unable to work due to this, (he is a diesel mechanic.) Nisa is a mom to two amazing kids on the spectrum and runs from one appointment to another. Her eldest son has been hospitalized multiple times, and is currently hospitalized and her having a job that allows her to parent these boys the way that she must is extremely difficult, so they are a one income family. Steve wasn’t injured on the job, so he gets no workman’s comp. He still is technically employed, even though they won’t allow him to work (he has been cleared for light duty) so unemployment is also not an option. They have attempted to get any and all assistance from the state, but since Steve is still employed there is little help for them. They have no money coming in, and are desperate. These are the most amazing people. Maddie hasn’t had a birthday party where Steve and Nisa aren’t first in line helping with decorations, and such. Nisa is constantly advocating for her sons, and doing all the mental health walks and awareness. Steve and Nisa are also always there for Steve’s two adult daughters, one who just had a baby, and the rest of their family. They also are getting married in 3 months.
