Helping Nirav - Diagnosed with ALS 2021

Nirav has ended his fight to ALS on September 2nd and has made his journey to God’s abode. We thank and appreciate everyone who has supported us in the past three years. I will appreciate any contribution and continuous support.

In August, 2021, Nirav received a devastating diagnosis. He was told that he has ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). ALS is a degenerative disorder that causes the death of neurons that control voluntary muscles, leading to paralysis of the entire body. Sadly, there is no cure and few effective treatments. Life expectancy is only two to five years.

This devastating news could make it easy for Nirav to crumble beneath the weight of such a grim prognosis. But rather than surrendering to this disease, Nirav is reacting courageously. He immediately stated that his goal would be to thrive and fight his battle for longevity! His main inspiration is that he can spend more years with his twin five-year-old sons.

Nirav is determined to stay positive while trying to live with a continued purpose as productively and independently as possible. He is a fighter who is fully prepared to go wherever he needs to go and do whatever he needs to do for the opportunity to live longer. He has the hope that the medical research being done today will result in finding a treatment that will slow down, stop, or fully reverse the progression of his condition.

I am Ami, Nirav’s wife and am starting this GoFundMe me account to raise money for Nirav’s expensive treatments. We have been investigating and seeking treatments that will give him the chance to aggressively fight this dreaded disease. These treatments will be extremely challenging financially. Nirav is advancing in his symptoms and will require much assistance during the trip including transport, special facility accommodation and specialized care, in addition to the medical fees.

We have created this page to give Nirav’s many friends, and those people with whom this story resonates, the opportunity to help support him with this journey.
