I want to share the story of an incredible little boy, Nikolai Julian Biancon.
Born in early November 2025, Nikolai’s journey began with unexpected challenges. He lives with a serious brain injury and was later diagnosed with Moderate HIE and hearing loss.
Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) is a neurological condition that affects the brain. For Nikolai, this means his brain has been impacted in ways that may make learning, movement and everyday life more challenging. As a result, he is considered at higher risk for conditions such as cerebral palsy, cognitive difficulties, epilepsy and other complications.
His parents, Jaye and Joel, have been doing everything possible to give him the best start in life. While Nikolai is receiving early intervention here in Australia, his family is planning specialised paediatric brain injury care and stem cell therapy overseas, treatments that could have a major impact on his long-term development and aren’t available here at home.
This journey comes with big sacrifices. Jaye’s business will face a challenging year as she focuses on supporting Nikolai’s care and Joel is taking significant time off work to care for Nikolai. They are also doing their best to ensure their daughter experiences normality as she starts prep this year, despite her parents being away.
With ongoing bills at home continuing to pile up alongside the cost of therapies overseas, every contribution big or small, makes a meaningful difference. Your support helps this family focus on what matters most: giving Nikolai the care and opportunities he deserves.
Nikolai is a fighter. Every smile, every milestone and every little victory shows his strength and determination. The road ahead is challenging, but with this care, he has the opportunity to reach his full potential and enjoy the best possible quality of life.
Jaye and Joel are dear friends of mine, and from my heart, this is a family who would drop everything to help others without hesitation. They are incredible parents, carrying the unimaginable with so much love, strength and grace. They deserve the same kindness and care they give so freely, and every gesture of support is a reminder that they are not alone and that a community is holding them up, surrounding them with hope, and walking alongside them every step of the way.
Thank you deeply for your donation; every contribution is truly and sincerely appreciated.
