My name is Nicaro Coke. I'm 25 years old, and I’m reaching out to you with a humble heart as I continue to face one of the most challenging times in my life. Since May 2024, I’ve been battling the inability to swallow. I have been diagnosed with Oesophageal Strictures, which have caused my oesophagus/swallowing tube to be completely sealed off, preventing food or drink from going down to the stomach. As of April 2025, I have also been diagnosed with severe malnutrition and Foot Drop due to a nerve injury.

This has turned my world upside down.

Daily life has become a struggle, and I’ve had to step away from the work and passions that once brought me so much joy.

Despite the pain, uncertainty and gaps in my nutrition, I’m holding onto hope. After countless procedures, surgeries and treatments, I have not yet been able to overcome this.

I’m scheduled for nutritional treatment that offers the possibility of undergoing surgery that may provide recovery and a fresh start. While I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity, the journey comes with significant financial challenges.

The medical bills, pre-and post-surgery care, and ongoing treatments have quickly added up, creating a financial burden that I cannot manage alone. Additionally, I’ve had to take time away from work to focus on my health, which has only increased the strain.

That’s why I’m asking for your support. I’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of hospital bills, medication, travelling expenses, blood work, and nutritional supplements. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a world of difference and bring me closer to reclaiming my life and independence.

Update:

I’m now back in the hospital for my 14th admission. My feeding tube, which had been helping me gain weight in preparation for surgery, has failed and needs urgent replacement. To continue healing, I must undergo a medical procedure and maintain Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) — a lifeline that delivers vital nutrients like vitamins, celemín, and other supplements intravenously. Unfortunately, the costs are overwhelming.
