Helping neighbors recover from a fire

Thursday, June 16, a fire broke out in the Tijeras Arroyo in Carnuel.

Those of us on the south side of the freeway were evacuated but came home to our houses standing. We are thankful for the crews that fought the fire that evening.

We learned that some neighbors who lived closer to the arroyo were not as fortunate, with homes belonging to Nadine Garcia and Nicole Griego lost in the fire. In addition, sheds belonging to Harry Griego and his son burned along with all their tools.

We are organizing this fundraiser to help our neighbors rebuild and begin replacing what they lost.
