Helping my Uncle Fight for Life with Cancer
Hi, my name is Analie Gallardo,
My uncle was diagnosed with stage four Multiple Myeloma on June 9th, 2021 at the age of 64. Because he has no insurance, he was forced out of the hospital unexpectedly, as he is considered "Non-Emergency" care any longer. His 7 children (ages 13-30) were left without help to care for their father. He is currently with his eldest daughter in Kansas City, KS, confined to a bed due to his mental and physical state of weakness. They have no resources for his care. My uncle's siblings all live out of state and are trying to help from afar.
In the meantime we are asking extended family and friends for help financially to help his children be able to manage his everyday needs. They will need supplies such as the following: a hospital bed, diapers, pads, and multiple medications. Their immediate and most urgent need is for financial help to get medical transportation services that offer stretcher transportation, which he needs for his chemotherapy treatments twice a week. They currently have no way to transport him to his appointments.
We also welcome any resources that may be helpful since this is an unexpected situation that has left us fumbling. His struggle, beyond his terminal diagnosis, is helplessly watching and knowing his children are faced with his care. We ask for your prayers for my uncle and his children, that God grant them the strength and mercy to get through the days ahead.
