Helping My Tio Carlos
Hi everyone! Back in December, 2020 my uncle was admitted to the hospital which we thought was for COVID but it actually ended up being MSSA. The infection traveled throughout his entire body creating 2 abscesses in his brain, an abscess on his spine, completely destroying one of his heart valves and impairing his motor functions. After months and months of treatments, surgeries, and hours of intensive care, he almost lost his life, but God works in mysterious ways and he overcame every obstacle that was thrown his way. We are so grateful that God and the amazing doctors and nurses at Maimonides have given him another opportunity to live out his life and be with his family.
Now comes the other obstacle. My uncle was the sole financial provider for his family and after leaving the hospital has been hit with tons of medical bills. He will be out of work until he is completely recovered and him and his family are facing financial hardship right now which is why I created this GoFundMe. We know times are difficult during this ongoing pandemic but anything helps and we truly appreciate anything that comes his way. We thank everyone in advance!

El pasado Diciembre de 2020 nuestro tío Carlos fue hospitalizado. Al inicio pensamos que se trataba de Covid, no era así. Se trataba de MSSA. Esta infección causó estragos en su organismo, desarrolló dos abscesos cerebrales, otro en su columna vertebral, causó también el completo deterioro de una de las válvulas cardíacas y comprometió sus funciones motoras.
Luego de largos meses de tratamientos, cirugías y de atención en la unidad de cuidados intensivos, Dios en su infinita misericordia le permitió superar todos los obstáculos que se le presentaron. Estamos profundamente agradecidos del equipo médico y de enfermeros del Hospital Maimonides, su infatigable trabajo y dedicación le han dado otra oportunidad para continuar su vida junto a su familia.
Ahora hay otro desafío por superar.
Nuestro tío Carlos es el único proveedor de su familia, y luego de salir del hospital ha debido asumir el alto costo de las facturas médicas.
Su delicada condición de salud no le permite seguir trabajando, esto supone para el y su familia graves dificultades económicas.
Por este motivo se creó este GoFundMe.
Sabemos que estos momentos son difíciles e inciertos a causa de la pandemia y del impacto que ha tenido en la vida de todos.
