Im not the most tech savy person so I hope i do this correctly. Bare with me as a try to update as much as possble my Mothers current condition and goings on.....

My mother Pam Leiseth was diagnosed with stage four small cell lung cancer. She was diagnosed this spring after battling what she thought was several back to back colds. Twice she was sent home with antibiotics for her "cold". After going in a third time due to shortness of breath she was hospitalized with low oxygen levels and other complications. They took some fluid from her lungs and after a short wait she returned for a follow up appointment where her Doctor confirmed that she was not dealing with winter colds, but stage four terminal Lung Cancer.

A plan was constructed on how to address this disease with my mothers quality of life in mind. She has completed one series of four chemotherapy treatments. There is no plan for further chemo. She will be transitioning to immunotherapy sessions. The goal being to provide her with the best quality of life possible by addressing pain management and side effects that arise from other medications she is taking.

She has not been able to work since late spring / early summer. For most of the spring and summer she has been back and forth to multiple appointments, consultations and treatments. Since June my mother has lost a significant amount of weight and standing and walking are very difficult for her, as she will lose her breathe very soon after doing either. She spends most of her time relaxing in her chair with her dog Sheba in her lap, as she cannot move around much without complications.

She has been assisted thus far by her Husband Dave, Sons Adam & Jessi, as well as her daughter in law Jessica whose help has been incredible. This assistance has offered her comfort and piece of mind being able to have family available and around to help with getting her to appointments and some medical procedures performed in the comfort of her home.

Last week she was to begin her immunotherapy treatments, however this was delayed due to her low oxygen levels, swelling, back pain and poor breathing. She was instead admitted to the hospital once again for testing, scans and trying to best determine what should happen next. As of today 9/9/2025 she has been transferred to Bethany Homes temporarily in the hopes of building up her strength, helping increase her food intake and physical therapy that will hopefully result in her moving back home and being strong enough to stand and be mobile.

I will be starting something soon where any donations to help with large scale medical bills that have stacked up as well as assisting with any medical needs and any new medical accessories she may require. Donations will also go to help with offsetting the loss of income Dave and my Mother are working through. She likes to text friends and family due to long periods of talking makes her lose her breathe, she would I'm sure appreciate hearing from family and friends.

Any help in this area would be appreciated. I will try to update this site every week and anytime something new takes place.
