Helping My Momma Fight Glioblastoma

Hi guys my name is Rosa Argueta and that beautiful smiling face is my mami. On January 17, 2022, we took my mami to the emergency room where we were told she had a large mass in her frontal lobe. On January 22, we were given the news that it was brain cancer, a tumor named glioblastoma, a fast growing tumor. This has effected my mami’s memory, feelings, physical status, and quality of life. My mami was admitted back into the hospital on February 4, where she was diagnosis with sepsis. Through this all my dad has been by her side, unable to work. My father is the breadwinner of our family. And while being the hospital, by my mother’s bedside, his car was stolen from the hospital parking lot. My family and I need help and support while my mom beats cancer’s ass. My mami needs full time care and will begin radiation and chemo within the upcoming weeks. This money will go to making up the wages my father has lost while taking care of my mami. My mami is strong and is a fighter. She will make it through this because I need someone to make my bagels in the morning, someone to yell at my dog and someone to cry when my brother, Anthony, graduates from high school. My mami is a stroke survivor as of 2018 and has been unable to work or drive since then. She is strong and Anthony and I’s role model.

Hola mi nombre es Rosa Argueta y esa hermosa cara sonriente es mi mami. El 17 de enero de 2022 llevamos a mi mami a urgencias donde nos dijeron que tenía una gran masa en el lóbulo frontal. El 22 de enero nos dieron la noticia de que era un cáncer cerebral, un tumor llamado glioblastoma, un tumor de rápido crecimiento. Esto ha afectado a la memoria, los sentimientos, el estado físico y la calidad de vida de mi mami. Mi mami fue ingresada de nuevo en el hospital el 4 de febrero, donde se le diagnosticó sepsis. Durante todo esto, mi padre ha estado a su lado, sin poder trabajar. Mi padre es el sostén de nuestra familia. Y mientras estaba en el hospital, junto a la cama de mi madre, le robaron el coche del aparcamiento del hospital. Mi familia y yo necesitamos ayuda y apoyo mientras mi madre vence al cáncer. Mi mami necesita cuidados a tiempo completo y comenzará la radiación y la quimioterapia en las próximas semanas. Este dinero se destinará a compensar los salarios que mi padre ha perdido mientras cuidaba de mi mami. Mi mami es fuerte y es una luchadora. Saldrá adelante porque necesito a alguien que me haga los bagels por la mañana, a alguien que le grite a mi perro y a alguien que llore cuando mi hermano, Anthony, se gradúe de high school. Mi mami es una sobreviviente de un accidente cerebrovascular a partir de 2018 y no ha podido trabajar ni conducir desde entonces. Ella es fuerte y el modelo a seguir de Anthony y mío.
