Helping My Mom Transition with Love and Care

My mom has always been an incredibly selfless and kindhearted woman. In May 2024, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. During this time, I moved her from Tucson AZ to Rochester NY in order to spend time with her, ensure she had the best care and quality of life. Since then, she has bravely undergone chemotherapy at the Wilmot cancer institute every 2 weeks and fought with unwavering strength.

Sadly, the treatments were not successful, and she was hospitalized in June 2025. Throughout this journey, my mom has shown and inspired me with incredible faith, courage, and resilience. I’m so grateful for every moment we’ve shared over the past year.

With a 3 month prognosis, it’s now her wish to spend her final days at home, surrounded by love. To honor that, I am taking a medical leave from nursing school and with your support, I’ll be able to take time off work to care for her full-time as her hospice caregiver.

Caring for my mom over the past year has been one of the most important—and most challenging—responsibilities I've taken on, especially at a young age. Right now, I’m seeking financial support so I can be fully present with her during this deeply personal and sacred time.
