My name is Halona. On June 22, 2022 we lost my mom to a very long battle with cancer. My mom Cheri, was one of the strongest woman I had ever known. She took care of everyone. She had asked me to make sure I take care of my dad before she passed. She was trying to get a loan to pay off debts and a major one being the past due taxes on their home. That never came to be because mom got too sick and passed before the loan was finalized . My mom has a very small life insurance policy. Almost half will be going to her cremation expenses. The rest my dad wanted to use on the taxes. He will have nothing left. Despite that, he wants to make sure he saves their home. The courthouse has said the minimum amount due by June 30th, is $1132. After that, he has to pay more in order to keep the home. This $1132 will at least buy him until February of 2023. It will give us time to plan accordingly. Right now we haven’t even had time to grieve. The additional I was asking is because my mom took care of all the finances. But things fell apart and there are a lot of minimums owed on health insurance, electric and a few other bills. It breaks my heart that I am not in a position to help, trust me I have when I could. But the life insurance will not be paid out in enough time to meet many of their deadlines, the biggest being the taxes. Any amount would be appreciated. I just want him to not have this worry. I’m hoping there is something left as a small nest egg so any financial emergencies in the future can be handled. Thank you in advance.
