Help Support My Dad as He Battles Dementia
Many people in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, know my dad. He’s the man you’ve likely seen walking through town, grocery bags in hand, ready to chat with anyone who crosses his path. He’s the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back, lend a hand without being asked, and go out of his way to brighten someone’s day. He loved giving his friends theatre tickets so they could enjoy a good show, and he has always believed in giving more than he ever asked for in return.
Unfortunately, over the past few years, my dad’s memory has been slipping away. He was diagnosed with dementia, and while we’ve been doing everything we can to keep him in his home for as long as possible, things have become increasingly difficult.
Recently, something devastating happened: some terrible people took advantage of his vulnerability and scammed him out of his entire August income—and it’s not even August yet. This loss has left him unable to cover his upcoming bills or prepare for the next step in his care.
I’m reaching out for help because I’m grasping at straws trying to support him from Moncton while he’s in Yarmouth. Until I can figure out a long-term solution and find him a safe boarding home where he can be cared for, I need to cover his August bills and begin preparing for his move.
Any help you can send our way—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page—would make such a huge difference. My dad has always loved helping others, and now I’m asking for help for him.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
Ashley
