Helping My Dad After Devastating House Fire
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
I created this fundraiser to ask for your help for my dad after a devastating fire destroyed his home.
My dad, Gary Bellew, lost nearly everything he owned recently in a terrible fire in his home. Thankfully, he and his little dog Arnie were not inside the home during the fire! It could have been so much worse and we are so thankful!
Because the trailer was older and located in Oklahoma, it was uninsurable, leaving my dad with no compensation for his loss.
**About My Dad:**
My dad is a hardworking, down-to-earth man who enjoys a simple life. He loves his dog, early mornings with a cup of coffee, and tinkering with his 3D printer and Raspberry Pi. He also has a passion for classic cars and has a few projects he dreams of restoring one day.
**What Happened:**
Last Friday morning, my dad left for work with his 3D printer finishing a job. We think it overheated and caused a fire that quickly engulfed his trailer.
By the time the fire department arrived, the home was beyond saving. Along with the trailer, he lost many sentimental items, including a cherished guitar that belonged to his dad which was damaged as well.
**How You Can Help:**
We are seeking to raise money to help my dad make another trailer he had on his property livable. This trailer, although old and in disrepair with rooting and water damage, could be fixed up with my dad's construction skills.
It's not an ideal solution, but like dad said "it's better than being homeless." However, if this fundraiser exceeds our expectations, we would love to provide him with a newer trailer!
**Immediate Needs:**
Currently, my brother has brought down a camp trailer for my dad to stay in temporarily. But it's essential to get the other trailer repaired or, ideally, secure a new home for him soon. Any additional funds will go towards new furniture and other necessities he lost in the fire.
**Why This Means So Much:**
Dad almost had his home and property paid off, and with the current real estate market, my dad cannot afford to purchase a new home elsewhere.
We understand that times are tough for many, but any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your network would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. We will provide updates on how the funds are being used to rebuild his home and life.
With gratitude, Stephen Bellew
