Help Rebuild Homes in Bullet District, Petersfield, Westmoreland After Hurricane Melissa
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
My name is Shauna-Kay Phillips, and I am reaching out on behalf of my hometown community, Bullet District in Petersfield, Westmoreland, Jamaica. Our community has suffered severe damage from Hurricane Melissa, which destroyed homes, tore off roofs, and left many families struggling without proper shelter.
Many residents — including the elderly, children, and single parents — are now living in unsafe conditions. Some families are forced to sleep under leaking roofs or stay with neighbors because their homes were completely damaged. Despite these challenges, our community remains strong and hopeful.
I live most of my life in Bullet District, so this cause is very close to my heart. I have created this GoFundMe to raise funds that will go directly toward helping families repair and rebuild their homes, especially by providing materials and assistance to put roofs back over their heads.
All funds raised will be used transparently and go directly to this cause. I will ensure that every dollar is spent to help those most in need — providing roofing materials like zinc sheets, nails, and lumber, as well as support for rebuilding damaged structures.
Your support will help us:
Purchase essential roofing materials
Assist families with rebuilding and repairs
Provide temporary supplies for those still displaced
No amount is too small — every contribution makes a difference. If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign so we can reach more people who may be able to help.
Together, we can bring relief, safety, and hope back to Bullet District. Let’s help our families rebuild their homes and their lives.
With heartfelt thanks,
Shauna-Kay Phillips
