Hi, my names Sherisha and Im fundraising
because I started Giftful Box during my maternity leave after having a difficult birth and spending the first week of becoming a mum in hospital healing from a emergency c section, whilst my baby boy was in neonatal. This was a stressful and emotional time for me, not being able to enjoy your new bundle of joy and also trying to heal.
This made postpartum life hard and I felt very emotionally and physically exhausted, I really needed some self care but I didn’t have the time now I had a baby to take care of. I looked online and could not see what I needed, so I made my own self care package. I started meeting up with my mum friends and we were all crying out for self care and pampering, so I started making small gift boxes for them and they loved it. We created a community called Mummyhood Chronicles and more mums requested not just gift boxes for self care but other occasions, like birthdays, thank you, weddings, baby showers and more. What started off as a need to support my wellbeing and flourished into a website sending unique and personalised gifts straight to letterboxes.
Not only do I want to create occasion and wellness gifts for women but men too.
This is so important to me because there are many times in life where someone around us is going through a tough time or may need some cheering up or to celebrate a special moment and we want to send that loved one a gift that is personalised to show our love, but we may not have the time or means to be there in person. Giftful Box is that place where a thoughtful gift can be there to take the pressure off and make gifting simple and easy.
