Helping Monique's Family

May 12, 2019:

Friends and loved ones, Monique passed at 11:15pm Sunday night surrounded by Sami, Alex and friends.

Hospital staff continued to comment on the non-stop outpouring of love and visitors streaming in for visits these past weeks, but also how they grew to love Monique and heard her laugh down the hall. Of course none of us are surprised that she grew on them like she grew on us.

We will update the site (https://my.lotsahelpinghands.com/community/moniquemaynor) with more details as we know more. Meals will still be much appreciated, and we will update the schedule for meals soon.

Thank you to everyone for the continuous outpouring of support, prayers, visits, text messages. Monique was well loved.

(Old) Update: The outpouring of love and generosity for Monique has been amazing, though none of us are surprised because we know how she has touched each of our lives and brought light, laughter and love to each and every one of us. We are increasing the goal to $15,000 with the goal of providing not only immediate support to cover her needs, but also long-term support as treatment and recovery are ongoing. We are in this to support Monique and her family through the long-haul! Thank you for your generosity!

Recently,  our beloved Monique was diagnosed with myelodysplasia, a cancer caused by bone marrow failure. Soon she will begin the first of several month-long in-hospital chemo treatments.

A worldwide search is also underway to find a bone marrow donor for the transplant. Please pray that a match is found as soon as possible. This process could take months, but here is hoping that one is found sooner.

Through all of this Monique will face co-pays, unforeseen medical expenses, and still has her family to care for.

Monique is known to all of us for her beaming smile, authentic laugh, and unending effort to learn the names and stories of all those around her. She has brought us all joy, laughs and hugs, and it's our turn to return those and then some. Please help how you can.

Thank you all for your continued love and support!

Note: all withdrawals from the fund will go to Monique's account.
