We are asking for help for our mother Tammie Rudeen. If you're from the Coon Rapids MN area then chances are you know her. Everybody loves our mom! She worked for many years at Kathy's Superette and at the deli in Cub Foods (both on Hansen Blvd).
July 10th 2021 she went in the E.R. because she had been in bed for nearly a week and barely ate anything because she had zero appetite. After they had her for a few days they diagnosed her with AML. She has fought the fight of her life this summer against this formidable foe. Acute Myeloid Leukemia, otherwise known as AML. It is a very rare and aggressive cancer that attacks and kills the white blood cells. Mom has put up one hell of a fight up to this point. She spent almost 10 weeks in the hospital and now she is back home. She's in remission, which is awesome, but is still undergoing chemo treatments and transfusions. A week of IV chemo a month and oral chemo the rest of the time. This will keep the cancer at bay. They have found multiple bone marrow "matches" for Mom to get a transplant. But first... she will be getting a series of marrow boosting treatments to raise her blood cell count... and then she needs to complete one more month of chemo therapy... and then, God willing, she can undergo an intensive work up. This is all just to see if she's a good candidate for the transplant or not. We're still facing alot of uncertainty right now. If she eventually gets the green light for the bone marrow transplant she will be hospitalized for about 8 weeks. We would be caring for her afterwards for awhile.
The reason we need help for her is because she is still extremely immunocompromised. Her cell counts are so dangerously low that she doesn't have any defense against illness or infection. She is unable to work anytime in the foreseeable future, and cannot collect any more unemployment. She has a house, and all that goes with it, to pay for. The money will go towards general living expenses so she can finish this battle without any added pain or stress! Please consider giving. Anything helps. We appreciate you all and thank you for all the ongoing support, care and prayers! God bless you! ❤
