Helping mom restore her home
Donation protected
Hi friends and family! As most of you are aware, my mom purchased a home last year that was built by her grandfather. She has been working on getting it to exactly where she wants/needs (aesthetically, comfortability, some construction issues, etc.) This is the home her and her husband were set to retire to when that day comes. She has furnished it with antiques passed down starting with her great grandparents. It has been fun and frustrating for her all at the same time. Many issues have arisen including AC units failing and flooding the home, pipes bursting and flooding the home, gas issues, and the list goes on.
The most recent incident?
Vandalism and arson.
The home and it’s belongings have been completely destroyed. It breaks our hearts even more to know this was purposely done by a 7 year old and a 9 year old! What?! Why?!
Unfortunately, mom had a construction insurance policy on it as she repaired and restored it and that policy explicitly states, no recourse for arson. Apparently, home flippers will set their properties on fire to collect insurance policies when they’re unable to make a profit.
So, this leaves my mom absolutely helpless. The minors more than likely will not be held accountable and neither their care givers.
No insurance to help pay.
Not only is this absolutely breaking my moms heart, it’s a huge burden she never saw coming.
She would absolutely never ask for help but I’m not afraid to help her, as she has helped me through out my entire life. She may even be upset me for starting this, but I don’t care.
She has helped so many of you whether directly, your children, your friends or other family. She has a servants heart, a bleeding heart, if you will. She sometimes helps others to the detriment of her own self.
Honestly, there’s probably many of you who never even realized she’s helped you in your time of need.
I completely understand that life is hard for us all, money is tight, but if you’re able, please, any little bit will help her. If you’re not comfortable donating here, I will gladly accept cash or personal checks for her. Please reach out to me!
And if you could, continue to pray for my mom and share this with all you can!
We love you and are so thankful for you!
