Help China Beat Cancer
This is my beautiful friend China, a loving single mom who has been bravely fighting breast cancer for the past 16 months.
China was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in June 2019. Initially, she was diagnosed at stage 2 and the plan was a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy. She immediately began treatment but the cancer returned one week after she completed 6 months of chemotherapy. In January 2020 she was hospitalized with blood sugar level of 800 and diagnosed with diabetes. Around this time the cancer had progressed to Stage 3. Because of the aggressive nature of this cancer it was decided that a double mastectomy was necessary and China underwent the surgery in March 2020 followed by another surgery in April when it was determined that additional affected areas needed to be removed. After a 3 week recovery she underwent 2 months of radiation and is now on oral chemo for a minimum of 6 months up to a year. After her mastectomy she developed lymphedema in her prominent arm which now requires her to have physical therapy as well as a pump for pain and cording. She is expected to begin tissue reconstruction in April 2021.
If you are lucky enough to know China you know that she is a fighter, she’s a survivor. She has overcome situations in her life that would bring most people to their knees, but she kept it moving. She has fought this cancer with everything she has and it has been the fight of her life. She will win this battle because losing is not an option. Her kids need her and frankly, we need her. The world is a better place withChina in it.
Until recently, China managed to take care of everything with very little help. But things have changed, and due to numerous health setbacks and her compromised immune system, she is unable to work at this time and has exhausted all resources. She is the sole support for her kids and her home. Her kids are pitching in and doing all they can but she is falling behind on her bills and could face an eviction next month. After a year and a half without asking for outside help, she needs some help to get back on track.
I am telling you China’s story because she needs your help. I’m asking for donations to help ease her financial burden and allow her to focus on her health and recovery. China still has a long road ahead of her in terms of healing. The added stress and worry about finances is taking a toll on her mentally which in turn affects her physically.
If you can make a financial donation to help her she would be forever grateful. If you cannot donate, please share her story. Every little bit helps.
Thank you so much.
