Our little earth angel was recently diagnosed with retinoblastoma which is a cancerous tumor growing in the eye. It is a rare cancer afftecting 300-400 children in the US each year. Although one of the most treatable cancers, it is also very dangerous. Although there is almost no death rate from this cancer in the US, make no doubt that it is in fact cancer and requires chemo to treat it and may even lead to the loss of the eye. The most notable sign of this cancer is seeing white in the pupil instead of red. Please if you see this in your child's eye, get them checked by a pediatric eye specialist immediately! I can not stress how important it is. Even if you aren't sure, but believe you may have seen the glow, get your child checked by a medical professional ( family pcp or eye doctor) It could be the only thing that saves your child's eye/eyes.
