Over the past several weeks, our lives have centered around Michael’s stem cell transplant and the complications that followed. While we are deeply grateful for his care, this season has brought unexpected logistical and financial strain that we didn’t anticipate. We want to be transparent: we have been able to celebrate Christmas with giving gifts and honoring commitments that mattered to us. This isn’t about hardship so much as timing—many necessary expenses have had to come directly out of our checking account while we wait for reimbursements. We paid out of pocket for gas and an Airbnb stay near the cancer center, which was originally $3,000. After Michael was hospitalized with complications on Christmas Day, we had to extend the Airbnb beyond our original January 3 end date, adding $500 so far, with another $250 needed to extend through January 11. We also covered a hotel stay from November 30–December 3 when the Airbnb wasn’t available, which also has not yet been reimbursed. In addition to covering these costs, I would love to raise $200 to have Card My Yard decorate our yard for Michael. He has been through so much, and I want him to be celebrated when he finally comes home. If you feel led to support us in this season, we are deeply grateful. If not, your prayers, encouragement, and love still mean more than we can say. Thank you for walking with us, in whatever way that looks like. With love and gratitude, Brooke
