Melissa has always been the type to quietly take life’s challenges in stride, but now she’s facing something no one should have to endure. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has already gone through a double mastectomy. She’s in recovery now, but there’s still a long way to go. She has reconstructive surgery lined up for June (fingers crossed she moves up on the cancellation list!) and an even tougher recovery process ahead.

If you know Melissa, you know she’s one of the kindest, funniest, and most thoughtful people around. She’s the friend who always shows up, whether it’s to listen, crack a joke when you need it most, or help out without being asked. Even now, she’s tackling this journey with her signature humor and sass, keeping everyone laughing while staying as strong as ever.

Her two kids are by her side, doing everything they can to support her, but the reality is tough. Being out of work and waiting to see if long-term disability will come through has left her juggling mounting medical bills, rent, groceries, and everyday expenses. It’s a lot to carry while trying to heal and show up for her family.
