Helping Meg Heal

On the morning of Friday, March 13th, my sister-in-law Meg was driving her morning commute to Fall River, where she teaches 2nd grade at Holy Name School. As she was driving north on the highway, a car headed south was abruptly rear-ended and pushed head-on into her car. Meg’s car was totaled, and she was taken to the hospital where it was found that her right leg had been broken in multiple places.

 

Since the accident, Meg has been at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston, where she has already undergone one surgery, as she awaits a second surgery in the coming weeks. Due to her injuries, Meg has not been able to return to the place that brings her the most joy- her classroom. Enduring the physical pain from the accident has been a challenge, but knowing that her school year has been cut short has been an incredible disappointment to her and her students.

 

Meg faces a long road of treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery. In the meantime, she faces mounting medical bills, automotive bills, and loss of wages and ability to work. We are asking for anyone willing and able to surround Meg with your support. Prayers, care packages, or donations will go a long way. Meg has always given so much to those around her, including my own two kids, and she could really use our help.
