Helping Me Regain Confidence – Artistic Scalp Hair Tattoo

Donation protected

When I was 13 years old, my hair started falling out. At the time, I was told it was “genetic,” and no further medical tests were done. Only in adulthood did I undergo proper examinations and discover that I have androgenetic alopecia and a thyroid condition.
By then, the hair loss had become significant. My scalp became visible, thinning areas appeared, and some of the hair follicles had permanently stopped functioning.
However, the hardest part was not the hair itself — it was people’s reactions.
“Look how bald she is.”
“Can you see her scalp?”
“What happened to your hair?”
Comments like these stay with you for years. They bring shame, frustration, tears, and deeply affect self-esteem.
Despite treatment, my hair only partially grew back. A hair transplant is not possible due to the lack of suitable donor hair. Extensions, wigs, or hair systems require daily maintenance and do not feel natural to me. I value simplicity. I wear my hair short — I do not dream of long hair. I simply want to visually increase the density of what I already have.
For nearly 30 years, I have worn a baseball cap almost every day. It became my shield against stares and questions. My wish is to finally leave the house without it and feel comfortable.
My goal is to undergo a professional artistic scalp tattoo — an individualized design that creates a natural visual effect of fuller hair through realistic, carefully crafted details. This is not standard micropigmentation using dots, but a more artistic approach tailored to my hairline and natural appearance.
This procedure will allow me to: • Visually increase hair density
• Stop hiding
• Regain confidence
• Close a painful chapter that began when I was 13
Today I am 50 years old. For more than three decades, I have lived with this struggle. I learned to function with a sense of loss that started in childhood. I learned to smile while carrying pain. I learned to treat my cap as armor.
I am not trying to change who I am. I simply want to stop hiding.
Financial Goal – £3,000
The fundraising goal reflects the realistic cost of a professional, multi-session artistic scalp tattoo.
The funds will be used for:
• Consultation and personalized design – approx. £300
• 2–3 treatment sessions – approx. £2,200
• Final corrections and refinements – approx. £300
• A small reserve for potential additional adjustments – approx. £200
Total: £3,000
All funds will be used exclusively to cover the cost of the procedure.
I understand that for some people this may seem like a cosmetic procedure.
For me, it is something much deeper. It is about confidence, dignity, and finally feeling comfortable in my own skin after many years of hiding.
I understand that not everyone will relate to this — and that is okay. If my story resonates with you, I would be deeply grateful for your support.
