I’ve just celebrated my 40th birthday, my youngest is preparing to leave for university, both my children are now officially adults… and suddenly I’ve found myself standing at one of those huge life crossroads where everything changes all at once.

In the same year I’ve become an almost-empty nester, I’ve also unexpectedly found myself unemployed.

And honestly... after the initial panic and “WHAT the heck am I doing with my life?” thoughts… it suddenly crossed my mind as to where my calling may be taking me!

Over the last 12 months, I’ve been pet sitting and house sitting around the UK and overseas in exchange for free accommodation... and I completely fell in love with it.

Not just the animals (although I become emotionally attached to most cats within approximately 4 minutes), but the whole AMAZING experience:

caring for beautiful homes

creating safe spaces

helping people travel stress-free

slow travel and exploration

building trust with homeowners

cosy routines

...and unexpectedly discovering that I’m apparently extremely good at cleaning too.

So I’ve decided to take the leap and officially build my own premium pet, house sitting and home concierge business.

The vision is to provide trusted, calm, reliable care for people’s pets and homes while they travel ... everything from cat sitting and overnight stays to home security presence, plant care, home resets, organisation and luxury “welcome home” touches.

I already have 5⭐ reviews from previous sits, professional experience running organisations, a clean enhanced DBS history and YEARS of experience being the person everyone trusts to organise literally everything.

Now I’m raising funds to help me get properly launched professionally, including:

Cleaning & business insurance

Professional cleaning supplies & equipment

Business cards & marketing materials

Website & business setup costs

DBS check & verification costs

Professional profile setup and advertising

I’m taking this seriously and genuinely believe this could become something really special!

I think there’s something really powerful about choosing reinvention at 40 instead of shrinking because life changed (though it has defintely crossed my mind a few times).
