Hello All,

I’m reaching out because I’m in a difficult financial moment and need help bridging the next few months while I complete professional training that will allow me to return to stable work. As of March 13th, I have about $125 in my bank account, and I have no way to survive the month, which is why I have decided to put up a GoFundMe.

For the past several years I’ve been working to rebuild my career in the Film & Television Industry. I’m currently enrolled in a Script Supervisor training program; this is a critical step toward working again on professional Productions.

This training is my pathway back into steady employment. However, right now I’m struggling to cover basic expenses while I complete it.

My current income through ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program — disability welfare) is about $1,500 per month. My rent alone is $1,400. Family support helps somewhat — about $500 per month — but it still isn’t enough to cover utilities, internet, phone, and basic living costs. Also, I need to stop taking money from them ASAP and get self-sufficient as quickly as possible.

I am continuing to apply for jobs & to pursue part-time work through personal contacts & networking. However, the reality right now is that I need help stabilizing financially so I can finish this training and move into the next stage of my career.

My goal with this fundraiser is to create a financial bridge that will allow me to:

• remain in my apartment

• cover essential bills

• focus on completing my Script Supervisor certification

• continue searching for part-time work while training

I also want to say clearly that self-sufficiency matters deeply to me. Work means freedom & dignity. As technology and AI make the job market more difficult, I believe it’s more important than ever to hold on to meaningful work whenever possible.

My background includes:

• 18 years of corporate marketing experience — data entry, organizing marketing mailers & email campaigns, Microsoft Office.

• writing, booking music, and organizing shows for clubs & festivals

• nonprofit immigration volunteer work

• Workaway volunteer work in Central America

• 3 years in the TV commercial Industry as a Production Assistant in Art Department & Locations

• background acting

• door-to-door campaign work for the NDP during last spring’s Federal Election

Any support, large or small, will make a real difference and help me move toward stable work & independence again.
