Helping Matteo kick Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Donation protected
My name is Tarri and I am the Aunt of 14 year old Matteo D'Amato. On Friday the 23rd of June, Matteo was looking pale, and despite feeling well, was taken to his physician. After some blood work was done, his mother was contacted and instructed to pack a bag and prepare for emergency transport to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
Matteo has received a rare diagnosis of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia- a disorder wreaking havoc in his bone marrow. He is expected to remain hospitalized for a month as he receives treatment, 5 hours away from family and friends. During this time his mother will be staying with him unable to work due to the distance. She and his father cannot consider the financial ramifications of long-term cancer treatment or what missing a month or more of work will do to his mother's financial situation as she continues to support and raise her 2 children.
We know that any help will undoubtedly provide relief when it is needed the most, and humbly ask for any support you feel called to give to help this family in their time of need. Thank you and God bless.
