Helping Matt through his battle against AML

Hi all,

My name is Robyn Leppo Rajkovich and I am here asking for help... something neither I nor my best buddy, Matt Murray, are accustomed to doing. It makes us both uncomfortable and we'll do anything to avoid it; however, here we are, with circumstances facing Matt beyond our control. Cancer has returned to haunt him for a second time (the first time was nine years ago when he battled Multiple Myeloma and, which, thankfully has been in remission). However, it turns out that the chemo drugs, which he has taken daily since that dreadful day nine years ago, is a drug which has a high percentage of causing secondary cancer in the form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Unfortunately, Matt wasn't feeling well all Summer, and we were hoping and praying it wasn't his cancer returning. Well, it wasn't - it was a new cancer with a new name, a new plan of battle, but yet back in Houston, TX, where we know Matt is receiving the best of care - MD Anderson Cancer Center.

As most of you know, Matt has been involved in Arabian horses (and horses, in general) for all of his life. Most recently, he started a riding academy in his hometown of Miami and has been teaching children and adults how to ride and care for horses. They have all had nothing but exemplary reviews of Matt (not unexpected!) and some have gone on to purchase their own horse!

While Matt is in Houston battling for his life, his three horses at home in Miami still need care. Additionally, the high costs of medical care, medications, and everything that goes along with battling cancer is expensive... but Matt's life is worth it!
