Helping Matt Murphy Navigate His Medical Diagnosis
Donation protected
I have started this GoFundMe to help a member of the Layton Sports Cards team. Matt Murphy, or as our community has named him, Magic Matt, has been breaking with LSC for a little over two years. He started out breaking from his house in Missouri and then relocated to Florida with his son, Hunter. Since moving to Florida, he has found the love of his life, Christina.

Before joining Layton Sports Cards, Matt had spent 13 years wrestling professionally in Japan and the United States for WWE. As with any contact sport, there is a high risk of head trauma, and after 13 years, he has had many injuries, including multiple concussions. He has suffered from migraines for years, occasional blurred vision, and sensitivity to noise and light.

The symptoms have been getting worse. Recently, Matt started experiencing vertigo, numbness in his arms, legs, and face, flashing in his vision, dizziness, and showing stroke-like symptoms. Upon multiple tests, it was found that he was experiencing hemiplegic migraines, which mimic stroke symptoms. In addition, it was found that he was likely experiencing these hemiplegic migraines from seizures that he was having. He’s lost his ability to drive. He cannot be around loud noises or fast-moving things. Any of these things can trigger a seizure or migraine. They don’t know why all of a sudden he’s had this onset of symptoms, and he's going for continued tests and opinions.

At this time, Matt is no longer allowed to operate a vehicle and must be supervised at all times. Sadly this means he can no longer work. Christina will be Matt’s full-time caretaker as well as a mother to their blended family of 5 children.

This GoFundMe helps Matt and his family with medical expenses, travel expenses, and potentially a service dog.
Thank you in advance for your support of this fundraiser. If you cannot donate money, that is ok; please share so we can spread the word.
