Hi, my name is Jordan, and I’m Mariza’s best friend. I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Mariza and her husband, Joe, who experienced an unimaginable loss last night.

While traveling to Wisconsin to begin an exciting new chapter of their lives with new job roles, Mariza and Joe’s U-Haul caught fire. In a matter of moments, nearly all of their belongings were destroyed. Thankfully, there were no injuries, but what was meant to be a hopeful move forward turned into a heartbreaking and overwhelming situation.

The timing of this loss makes it even more devastating — with Christmas just days away, they are facing this tragedy during what is typically a season of warmth, joy, and celebration. Instead of preparing for the holidays, they are now focused on replacing essentials and finding stability during an already emotionally difficult time.
