helping mandy with her fur baby emergencies

Mandy is living every pet mommas nightmare.

A couple weeks ago, her kitty Nora was taken to the emergency animal vet due to being very lethargic, vomiting & no longer eating. After multiple hospital stays and scans, it is now recommended Nora have a surgical biopsy to confirm what is going on, in which the vet believes is mostly likely cancer. Even with the surgery, mandy still doesn’t know how many days she has left with her baby.

Receiving this news & not knowing how much longer you have with a fur baby is so hard. Mandy raised Nora from days old at a vet she worked at 7 years ago. In Gainesville, the only animal hospital that can do everything Nora needs done is UF & if you know UF, you know how expensive every single visit can be even when they do absolutely nothing & give you no new answers.

It has been a rough two weeks for mandy as she’s processed this & tried to enjoy every minute with her babies but especially Nora..

This morning, mandy came home from work to find her dog Juno unable to get up, extremely lethargic & weak. She was carried to her vet where they told Mandy she has severe kidney failure & pancreatitis and has a 15-20% chance of living. She is admitting Juno to UF where they will keep her for a few days and do what they can for Juno & to make her comfortable.

Mandy is absolutely shattered as she faces possibly losing both of her fur babies. To people like me and mandy and many others, that’s our little family & our little children. With little personalities & a whole lot of happiness. These babies get us through the hardest of times. We carry them apartment to apartment. We grow up with them. We feed them when we couldn’t feed ourselves & we spoil them every chance we get. And they love us, forever & no matter what.

I am 5 hours away from my best friend when she needs all the love and support the most. No words or money can ever help this heart break she faces. While we all save for such costly emergencies, you never expect to go through two very expensive emergencies at once. My goal is to raise whatever I can for her, as she has had to spend thousands and thousands just to get answers for both of her babies, both within weeks of each other. Please help this beautiful trio if you can. I love them so much.
