On 7/13/2021 our beloved Dawn was diagnosed with Non Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer (both sides)

In a little less than 4 weeks she will undergo surgery for a bilateral mastectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsies followed by a surgery for reconstruction.

Depending on what reports after surgery show, radiation and chemotherapy may be to follow.

Everyone who knows Dawn knows that she is a light in this world and a light in so many lives. She's a friend to everyone and makes everyone who is lucky enough to know her feel like the most important person in the world! She brings so much joy to every situation and always is the person who never ceases to find the good in literally everyone, everything and every situation! Even in this situation she has only spoken of the positive and has had a hard time letting fear take over her!! Bottom line though is fear is there! Fear for this life changing experience for her body, fear of cancer, fear for her children, fear for not being able to hold her new grand baby, fear for being ready for her daughters wedding, fear of the cost.....the thoughts and fear are real and keeping her up at night. She is never one to ask for help and even in this extreme circumstance; she has not asked for help!!! It took a lot of convincing for her to allow us to even start or post this.

The reality is Cancer treatment is expensive, even with insurance coverage. Yes she has some savings and insurance but the first surgery out of pocket expense WILL wipe this out completely!

We want her to know she’s not alone, we want to help ease the burden of what is to come, we want to give back to this beautiful soul that has given so much to her family, her friends & her coworkers.

So many kids who have grown up with Sean, Ali and Emilee refer to Dawn as “Mama Dawn”

….. well Mama Dawn needs all of us right now!
