My best friend, Brianna, recently received devastating news: her soul dog, Malcolm, has been diagnosed with Transitional Cell Carcinoma/Urothelial Carcinoma, an aggressive form of urinary tract cancer.
After months of recurring symptoms, multiple vet visits, and repeated diagnoses of prostatitis and UTIs, Brianna continued to advocate for Malcolm and push for additional testing. On May 29th, an ultrasound finally revealed a mass on his bladder, and on June 10th, cancer was officially confirmed through further testing.
The next step is meeting with an oncologist to discuss treatment and palliative care options. Unfortunately, the tumor is highly invasive and cannot be surgically removed. At this time, Malcolm's veterinary team estimates he may only have a few months left.
As any dog lover can imagine, this news has been heartbreaking. Malcolm has been by Brianna's side since June 2019 and has helped her through some of life's most difficult moments. He is more than a pet... he is family, a constant source of comfort, and her best friend. Despite his diagnosis, Malcolm is still the same vibrant, goofy, loving boy who brings joy to everyone around him.
Brianna's goal is to make whatever time he has left as comfortable, happy, and pain-free as possible. Donations will go directly toward Malcolm's veterinary care, oncology appointments, treatments, medications, and any supportive care that can help improve his quality of life.
If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to Brianna and Malcolm. Thank you for helping give this sweet boy the love and care he deserves during this difficult time.
