Helping Luis Morales back on his feet

Our brother, Luis Morales, founder and front man of Houston area leading Reggae Band, DEM ROOTS, was seriously injured in a hit and run that occurred in the early morning of Wednesday April 7, 2021 on his way home to Galveston. Luis witnessed an accident on I-45 south and Scarsdale , and without a doubt he stopped and rendered aid, to the driver of the vehicle that got hit. That driver was an elderly man that was in significant pain, Luis quickly called 911, to get help on the way. Before Luis knew an oncoming vehicle was heading towards him at full speed. It was apparent that the driver was not paying attention. Although Luis was able to quickly react and ran as fast as he could, the driver managed to hit him, tossing him around and left him with a shattered ankle and deep bruises on his back, arms, legs, and head. The driver did not stop to aid our brother, Houston Police continues the effort to find this driver and hold him accountable for what he has done.
Luckily, Luis was able to be rushed to Clear Lake Regional where he underwent a 4-hour surgery to reconstruct his ankle by placing twelve screws and a titanium plate. After being on observation our brother was discharged from the hospital and is home with his family and is focusing on healing after this traumatic event. Luis awaits a long and hard recovery, as he will need months of rehabilitation to learn how to walk on his foot again.
Those of you that know Luis will immediately recognize his kind heart and humanitarian nature, he has always been the first to lend a helping hand. Luis is needing our help during this hard time, as he is left with many medical bills that have begun to accumulate. Our brother does not count with medial insurance, and due to his injuries, he is unable to work to provide for himself and his family. We humbly ask for donations to help our brother in this time of need.
