Hello Friends & Family,
A group of us are reaching out on behalf of Kevin and Mariana Carroll and their children. A few weeks ago their 6 month old (Lucia) was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), it is a rare soft tissue cancer and there are only about 350 cases diagnosed each year. It has only been three weeks since they first noticed something was wrong and sweet Lucia has already undergone two invasive procedures and begun chemotherapy. Lucia is facing 18 months of intense treatment and she cannot be far from the hospital during that time. The family will have to relocate to Seattle. No family or young child should have to go through this sort of thing. Lucia and the Carroll Family have a long road ahead of them, to what we all hope will be full recovery. During the next 18 months and beyond they will have a lot of difficult decisions to make. Many that will heavily impact them financially and personally. The question we all have been asking ourselves is “how can I help”. There is no easy answer. So, we are asking for your support now with this GoFundMe page. Our goal is to help relieve some of the financial burden that comes with fighting cancer.
We know these are hard times for a lot of people. Any donation if you are able is greatly appreciated. We know the Carroll’s will appreciate it too.
For all of you who know or may not know Kevin, Mariana and their kids, they are an amazing loving family who would help anyone in need.
Kevin has dedicated his life to being an Educator, who loves and cares for all the kids that come through his classroom. Kevin takes great pride in his work and is truly passionate about teaching and helping our youth. Kevin is still trying to teach his students remotely as we all endure this pandemic as well as be the sole caregiver for Patrick 6 and Aileen 4 at home in Mount Vernon while Mariana is with Lucia in Seattle.
Mariana is an amazing, caring, loving and all around beautiful human being, who also has a passion for teaching and caring for children. She was the director of a large state run day care - early childhood development center in Mexico before they moved to Washington State and she committed to being home with her babies. There is a special calm and peace about her that is unique.
UPDATE: the cat is out of the bag. The Carroll's are aware of the GFM campaign. Please feel free to share the link with anyone and everyone. Kevin and family are so grateful for all the donations and help!
If you have any direct questions or other ways you would like to help the Carroll's please message Gavin Solway, Noel Turk, Justin Sherriff, Bill Flippo, Matt Bissell or Jason Pingree directly. This will help allow Kevin and Marina to focus on their family. Do feel free to send the Carroll Family well wishes, as we know that would mean a lot to them.
Thank you!
