Our hearts are shattered as we share the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Lorne Card.

On the morning of Thursday, March 5th, 2026, Lorne was driving his oldest daughters to school when their vehicle was struck by another driver. In a final act that perfectly reflects the kind of man he was, Lorne absorbed the full impact of the crash, protecting his daughters from harm.

His daughters showed incredible courage in those terrifying moments, staying with Lorne and helping to stabilize him until bystanders rushed in to help and emergency responders arrived and transported him to the hospital. Despite his strength, Lorne’s injuries were too severe and he succumbed to them on Friday, March 6th, 2026.

Those who knew Lorne knew a remarkable man. He was a devoted husband, an extraordinary father, and a deeply respected colleague. He touched countless lives with his integrity, wisdom, compassion, courage, kindness, and ferocity.

Now his wife and four daughters (ages 17, 15, 10, and 8) face the unimaginable—moving forward without the man who was a pillar in their lives.

We have created this fund to help support Lorne’s family during this devastating time. Donations will help provide stability for his wife and daughters as they navigate the difficult days ahead and begin the long process of healing.
