I battled with making a Gofundme and talked about it with my brother for a little bit before going forward with this but decided it was one way to relieve a burden on us as a family.
If you find yourself on this page then you most likely know our dad or my family in some way. If not, then we both still appreciate you coming to the page to see what its about.
Our dad was recently diagnosed with a tumor in his brain. We are still in the early stages and trying to figure out exactly what is going on but we know that we need to take this one bite at a time. Dad would always ask us as kids how we eat an elephant and our response was always "one bite at a time dad".
One bite we need to take is to cover some expenses. Thanks to my parents great health insurance that side of it is covered, at least a very large part of it. This is a huge blessing for our family. Although that is covered, Logan and I want to be able to help out our mom as much as we can and that means having the ability to be here at a moments notice. With logan being at Kansas State University and myself at Cal Poly, we are far enough away where it takes a good chunk of change to visit dad and help mama out. Any money that is donated will go directly towards travel funds and helping cover other expenses logan and I may not be able to cover during this time.
The future is very uncertain for team smith. We will continue to trust God every step of the way. We all know that this is going to be a rough ride but are ready to take a deep seat in the saddle and ride on. As our dad would always say, "This too shall pass." We know it will and we will lean on God to get us to the other side.
Thank you for taking the time and if you are unable to donate please just pray, that means more than any amount of money to our family. Money comes and goes but Gods love is never ending.
