With an open heart, I’m writing to ask for help during a very delicate moment in our lives.

Livia, my wife, whom many of you know, has always been an extremely active, hardworking, and strong woman.

About two months ago, she began experiencing severe headaches, weakness in her right arm, and intense pain behind her eyes and in her ear.

Fifteen days ago, after a medical procedure that was initially believed to be the main issue, her condition worsened significantly. She began to suffer unbearable pain and, unfortunately, was no longer able to continue her daily activities.

The main suspicion is She is with Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA), a serious autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of the blood vessels and can lead to vision loss, strokes, and aneurysms. She is still in hospital going through all necessary exams to find out what is going on. In addition, Livia is dealing with intense pain, extreme fatigue, and is currently undergoing continuous medical treatment, with no clear timeline for when she may be able to return to work.

Following medical advice and due to her physical condition, Livia had to step away completely from her work. This changed everything very suddenly. Today, we are not only facing the emotional and physical challenges of this illness, but also the financial impact it has brought to our family. We have our 11-year-old son, who depends entirely on us, and I work full-time under a sponsored visa, which gives me very limited flexibility to take on extra work.

With encouragement from friends, I created this fundraiser to help us get through this difficult period. The funds raised will be used to cover basic living expenses, medical costs, medications, and to allow Livia the rest and recovery this moment truly requires.

Living through all of this within the healthcare system here has shown me how difficult it can be for people to face such challenges without support. As a way of giving back for all the help we are receiving, I am offering my time and support to anyone who may need someone with experience and the ability to navigate difficult situations. I can help with English, text interpretation, companionship, or whatever may be needed.

We truly believe that Livia will recover, and when she does, she will also find ways to give back and help others as a way of gratitude for this campaign.
