Help Lanie Fight

Donation protected
In November my Grandma Lanie started to experience some discomfit when she would eat, she felt as if her food was getting stuck. The doctors ordered an endoscopy and discovered a mass at the junction of her esophagus and stomach. A biopsy was done and in December my Grandma Lanie was diagnosed with stage 3 junctional cancer. Junctional cancer is a cancer that is not strictly in the esophagus and not strictly in the stomach but right in the middle. Shocked and uneducated, we all began to research the best way to fight this. Our first hope was that surgery would be possible and chemotherapy could be avoided. While waiting for appointments and insurance approvals we started my grandma on a raw vegan diet only giving her organic fruits and vegetables. With the mass growing in her GI junction it became really difficult for her to eat or drink anything so we bought a juicer and a Vitamix and began juicing and pureeing everything for her. When we were finally able to see a surgeon, he reviewed my grandma’s tests and discovered that one of her lymph glands had lit up on the PET CT scan. Another biopsy was taken and it came back positive for cancer, advancing her staging to a stage 4 and also eliminating the possibility to do surgery. Her only option was to start chemotherapy, which after tons of research and prayer, she knew she didn’t want. After putting my grandma in every prayer chain possible we were told about an integrative cancer treatment facility called Hope 4 Cancer. My grandma has been there for a week now and will continue treatment for a year. To give you a little insight, the in-patient 3-week treatment starts at $43,000 and because my grandma has been unable to eat they have had to start her on several different nutritional IVs which have amounted to an additional $3,000. There were many tests and procedures that had to be performed in order to diagnose my grandma and as you can imagine, this has put a huge financial strain on her which is why I am here sharing her story with you all. My grandma is the most giving and caring person you will ever meet. She has a heart that loves to give and a beautiful soul. The goal of $100,000 has been set but anything helps and is greatly appreciated. I understand that not everyone is in a financial position to give so if you can’t, I would ask that you share this with all your friends and family as well as continue to pray for healing over my grandmother’s body.

Thank you in advance,

Monique
