Helping Lance adapt After a life changing tragedy
Donation protected
7/14 Our world completely stopped. We got the call that Lance had been rushed to the hospital after a devastating accident at work. His DA sander exploded, shattering the left side of his safety glasses and tearing through his helmet.
Our hearts sank. My dad and our family rushed to be along his side. When they got there, they were met with something no one is ever prepared for: Lance crying uncontrollably, shaking, and repeating through tears, "Dad, I'm blind... I can't see."
The fear and heartbreak in his voice were unbearable. He was terrified, confused, and overwhelmed. Hearing my dad try to stay strong while holding his son, and seeing the rest of our family frozen in shock and pain, is something we'll carry with us forever.
Lance is only 20 years old, just a few short weeks away from turning 21. He's always been so full of life. Always talking about football, showing off his brand-new truck, and lighting up every room with his smile and energy. But most of all, he truly loved his job. He constantly talked about how grateful he was, how amazing it felt to be doing something he was proud of.
Now we're facing a devastating reality. The doctors have told us there's about an 80% chance he'll lose his left eye. What makes it even harder is that Lance's right eye already had poor vision. So if the worst happens, he'll be left with little to no eyesight at all.
The weight of that news has shattered our hearts. It's more than physical pain; it's emotional, it's spiritual, and it's something no 20-year-old should ever have to face.
But even now, we believe in the power of prayer. We believe in healing. We believe in miracles. But after surgery, it took a downfall. Four hours in the operating room and they definitely tried their best, but the surgeon said, "The eye was like a puzzle with multiple tiny pieces that can't be solved," and that broke everyone's heart. As we prepare for a big road of recovery ahead of us and his world getting flipped upside down, every donation goes directly toward essential and critical needs such as gas for traveling to medical appointments, daily meals, and other necessities that will support Lance as he recovers and adjusts to his new way of life.
Lance recently experienced a life-changing event and tragically lost his left eye. He is now struggling with his eyesight and facing a long, difficult road to recovery—something he never imagined would happen to him.
Your support means everything right now. No amount is too small; every donation helps, and your prayers and encouragement are just as important and deeply appreciated.
