In the early hours of Friday morning, my mom’s house in Lakeville, Minnesota caught fire. She and my uncle got out safely, but the house is a total loss—everything is gone.
Many of you know how close our family is and how much we mean to one another, so this is one of the hardest posts I've ever had to write.
In the early morning hours of August 7, my mom's home in Lakeville, Minnesota caught fire. She (Carolyn) and my uncle (Chuck) escaped safely, but only by crawling to safety in their pajamas and bare feet. They made it out with their lives, but they lost everything.
The house is a total loss. Every room was destroyed. Even the cars melted in the fire. In a matter of minutes, everything they had built over a lifetime was gone.
Right now, they're starting over with nothing. They don't even have basic necessities like shoes.
Our family has created a GoFundMe to help them begin the long road to rebuilding. If you are able to give, no matter the amount, we would be deeply grateful. If you're not in a position to donate, sharing this with your family, friends, and community would mean the world to us.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Lakeville Fire Department and the firefighters and first responders from the surrounding communities who responded so quickly and courageously. Their professionalism, compassion, and tireless efforts in the face of such a devastating fire mean more to our family than words can express. We are forever grateful for all they did that morning.

Above all, we are profoundly grateful that my mom and uncle are alive, and we know that with the love of family, friends, neighbors, and this amazing community, they won't have to face this journey alone.
