On 2/24/21, my wife Kyleah was assaulted in our home. Some people broke in to steal our bulldog, Ozzy. They threw our son into a bookcase, and knocked Kyleah across the room. When she tried to fight back, and was able to get the dog back momentarily, they knocked her and Ozzy to the ground, beat her, ripped Ozzy out of her arms and stole him. She suffered multiple bruises and scrapes which have since healed, as well as strains and ligament damage all the way down her right side, and also a traumatic brain injury. She has months of physical therapy ahead of her. Luckily, our son only suffered some bruising, which has since gone away. 

Ozzy has some vet bills as a result of the fight, since he was scraped and knocked around when Kyleah tried to pick him up. He was brought back home by the sheriff’s office, but also has some recovery ahead. 

Our front window, that they broke though, needs replaced. While it’s low on our priority list at the moment, since it closes and opens, it does need to happen. I have been having to take time off work to get her to and from appointments, scans, as well as help with the court proceedings for both of us. Although my job has been more than understanding, I’m out of paid leave and I’m the only income in the house. 

We are hoping to raise enough to cover all of the expenses we face ahead, for both Kyleah and Ozzy. For medical bills, vet bills, fixing the damage done, as well as therapy for my wife  our son (who is quite afraid of strangers now).
