Helping Korean Small Businesses!

Donation protected

There have been at least 50 Korean businesses devastated from fires and looting. There was carnage with Korean businesses near 5th and Olney Ave., 5th and Chew Ave.,  Allegheny Ave. and Kesington Ave., and N. Broad St. and Chew Ave., Allegheny Ave. and Kensington Ave., etc. Many, many Korean beauty supply businesses were hit with looting and/or fires.

One story was with Top Hat located at Germantown Ave. and N. Broad St. Paul had done extensive renovations ($500,000 +) on his store recently purchasing the adjacent building to make a larger beauty supply space.  He had to get multiple loans and was looking to get sales back in gear to recover the $ spent. But with the COVID 19 pandemic and now the looting, Paul has lost everything. They looted his entire store! We would like to support owners like him. I, also, can relate as our building was burned down in which the franchise tenant made an investment of $650k to renovate the building.  Now, it's ashes, the entire roof is gone and it's just black ashes, twisted metal, and some remaining brick, both the tenant and landlord lost everything.

The owners have dedicated their entire lives (many more than 30 years) in their businesses providing for their families. They didn't do anything to deserve this. We need to come together to support them. Please consider donating to this campaign as all the funds will be given to the businesses with complete transparency. Together, as the greater Korean community, we must and will be able to overcome.

The Korean American community in the Philadelphia metropolitan area has grown to exceed 41,000 members. Korean Americans own many retail stores, provide various cultural opportunities, and are making important contributions in distinguished career fields such as law, medicine, business, education, architecture, and the arts. There are ever greater exchanges between Korea and Philadelphia, and the friendship between the two regions has been characterized since the beginning by a shared love of freedom, dedication to peace, and building of prosperity.
