Kira was born deaf, with a bilateral profound hearing loss. She has been able to use one hearing aid throughout her life with very little success. Kira is a currently a 27 year-old teachers aide at a deaf school where she loves her job & is pursuing a teaching career.

With new medical advancements available, Kira has an amazing opportunity to finally be able to hear. She is scheduled to get cochlear implants in hope of repairing all or at least some of her hearing. This surgery is long overdue and will be such a gift that will improve her quality of life.
