Helping Kim through a difficult time...

Hello, my name is Christopher and I would like to help a friend going through a tough time. Her name is Kim. I met Kim through another friend, Tony. Tony and I have known each other for a few years now and we get together often, usually working on projects around the house, his or mine. During said projects, we talk and share like most people do when together. Tony's significant other, Kim, has been a topic of conversation lately. Tony met Kim volunteering at the Mercy Soup Kitchen in Wyandanch NY. Here they are able to give back to these communities, supporting those in need which they are extremely passionate about. One of their other passions is working with and training canines in the security sectors. Kim fostered a Belgian Malinois, Ginger, who was a Police K9 from S.E. Texas. The bond they formed is inseparable. Now Tony would always talk about Ginger; how she is the super dog of dogs and after what I have come to learn about her, it seems to be true; she having such skills as explosives, narcotics and human remains detection, plus just being a great, loyal and obedient pet. Kim had the opportunity to foster Ginger 5 years ago, and they have been together ever since. Ginger is retired, but Kim kept her active working closely with a Search and Rescue Team. Kim also has a son, and from what I understand, the two of them are peas in a pod and just love spending time together. In 2012 Kim's life was side tracked when her mother Mary, who managed Babylon Bowl for 40 years fell ill. Kim came back home to Long Island N.Y. There Kim found a house to rent which provided enough room for Kim, her ailing mother and her 12yr old son. Unfortunately and in a short time, Kim's mother had passed. It took some time for Kim to come to terms with the loss of her mother, but she managed to stay focused on her life, son and career. A little time passed and it seems now, that Kim's life was about to change once again. This past year, Kim was having some difficulties, shortness of breath and chest pains. A chest x-ray determined that she had pneumonia. After a short while, Kim knew that some thing other than the diagnosis was affecting her. A CAT scan revealed that Kim was suffering from a thoracic aortic aneurysm. The thoracic surgeon told her that it was too large to ignore and not large enough to surgically repair, as an invasive surgery would be too dangerous. When Tony was telling me this story, I could see how it was taking its toll on him. He was lost and didn't know what to do or which direction to move in to support Kim. Since the diagnosis, Kim's condition worsened to the point where she started spending most of her time in bed, sick and unable to function
; not being able to work, spend time with her son as they did and not having the ability to help at the soup kitchen all took its toll on her. She would have her good days too, having Ginger there to keep her company lifted her spirits every now and then, but those bad days just outnumbered the rest. Kim was on short term disability and trying her best to make ends meet. If things couldn't get worse, the owner of the house that she rented for 10 years was put it up for sale. Kim eventually was asked to leave, but with little to no income, bills were piling up to point of ruining whatever credit she had; where could she go? Tony thought that maybe he could have Kim stay with him at his daughter's house, but there is no room for the both of them plus Ginger. Unfortunately Kim ran out of time to leave the apartment due to her condition holding her back. The owners have threatened to start eviction proceedings and this is where we are today... Kim’s situation, the eviction, pressure to relocate, not knowing what to do with K9 Ginger, trying to put food on her table and her financial limitations is creating the type of stress that her doctors are advising is the last thing she needs and will only make a bad situation, worse.. I want to help my friends and that is why I'm here. I'm not asking for the world, but asking that maybe we can put her world back together, even if it just gets her through the next day, week or month. Thank you...
